How it works
The installer is generated per company: it already carries your account identity, so there is no key to type and nothing to configure on the other end. As soon as the agent starts, the device appears in the dashboard with its inventory filled in and the active policies already applied.
Step by step
- 1In the dashboard, open Devices and click Connect device.
- 2Pick the operating system and download the installer generated for your company.
- 3Run the installer on the device with an administrator account.
- 4Wait a few seconds: the device shows up in the list on its own, with name, hardware and system identified.
- 5Apply the group and the policies that cover that device.
Mass deployment
The same installer works with GPO, Intune or any deployment tool. Because the company identity is embedded, a silent install needs no extra parameter.
Requirements
| System | Status | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Windows 10 and 11 | Available | Needs an administrator account at install time |
| Windows Server 2019+ | Available | Same installer as the desktop version |
| macOS 12+ | Available | Asks for screen recording permission on first run |
| Linux | Coming soon | On the roadmap |
| Android | Coming soon | On the roadmap |
The agent runs in the background and is built not to compete for resources with whoever is using the machine: usage sits at a few percent of CPU, with short spikes at capture time.
The device did not show up
It is almost always one of these three, in this order:
- The installer ran without administrator privileges — reinstall with the right account.
- The device has no internet access, or a corporate proxy is blocking the agent's outbound HTTPS.
- On macOS, screen recording permission was not granted: the device appears, but without captures.
A machine that had a previous install
If the machine ran an older version of the agent, remove the previous install and reboot before installing again. Legacy configuration held in memory is the most common cause of a device that installs but never appears.
Frequently asked questions
- Does the employee have to do anything?
- Nothing beyond authorising the install. On macOS, the first run asks for the system's screen recording permission.
- Can I uninstall remotely?
- Yes, from the dashboard, on the device page. Removal stops collection immediately.
