Shifts and overtime

Each device's workday: start and end time, and what happens once the shift is over.

What the policy defines

Shifts establish when that device's workday starts and ends. With the schedule defined, the platform can tell work inside the shift from use outside it — and that distinction is what feeds overtime.

The overtime rules

  • Automatic block — once the shift ends, the device is no longer released for use.
  • Free use with calculation — use continues and the excess is counted as overtime.
  • Manager approval — use beyond the shift depends on approval from whoever administers the account.

Where to configure it

  1. 1Open the device and click the + button next to the tabs.
  2. 2Choose Shifts in the More menu.
  3. 3Set the shift start and end and the overtime rule.

Availability

Shift control is marked as coming soon in the dashboard. Until it is released, hour measurement remains available in the device's Activity and Compensation tabs.

Frequently asked questions

Does the shift lock the machine at the end of the workday?
Only if the chosen rule is the automatic block. In the other two, use remains possible — what changes is how the excess is treated.
Can shifts differ per person?
Yes. The schedule is set per device, so each machine can carry the hours of whoever uses it.
